Smartphones, social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps are now part of everyday family life. They can be powerful tools for learning, creativity, and connection. However, technology can also introduce distractions, conflict, pressure, and real risk if families are left to figure things out alone.

This workshop is designed to help understand what young people are actually experiencing online today, where problems tend to start, and how families can respond in ways that protect safety without damaging trust or credibility.

This session is not about scare tactics or tech overwhelm. It’s about helping caregivers feel more confident, informed, and prepared to guide young people toward safer, healthier digital habits, while still recognizing the positive role technology plays in their lives. Through real examples, research-based insight, and practical strategies, we focus on what matters most: relationships, boundaries, communication, and informed decision-making.

Serving as an introductory session, this workshop covers the most important topics to help families maintain safety and privacy online. We focus on addressing immediate concerns and providing solutions that caregivers can implement to nurture digitally literate young adults.
